Start with the person, not the modern border

Record the ancestor's name variants, place of birth, residence history, citizenship documents and family relationships. Label uncertain dates as uncertain rather than filling gaps with guesses.

Check the possible route

Article 11 concerns qualifying former Romanian citizens whose loss was not attributable to them or was against their will, and descendants through the third degree. Location alone does not establish those conditions. Official Article 11 conditions.
